A couple returns from their honeymoon, and it’s clear that something is wrong. They are refusing to speak to each other, and the tension is palpable.
The groom’s best friend, noticing the awkward silence, decides to take the groom aside to find out what’s going on.
“Hey, man, what’s wrong? You two just got back from your honeymoon, you should be on cloud nine!” the friend says, trying to lighten the mood.
The groom sighs deeply and replies, “Well, it’s a bit embarrassing, but when we finished making love on the first night, I put a $50 bill on the pillow without thinking.”
The friend raises an eyebrow and says, “Oh, you shouldn’t worry about that too much. I’m sure your wife will get over it soon enough. She can’t expect you to have been saving yourself all these years.”
The groom shakes his head and says, “That’s not the problem.”
The friend looks confused and asks, “Then what is it?”
The groom takes a deep breath and says, “She gave me $20 change!”
